Head of Estimating

A Project Director with a proven track record of delivering London based schemes more than £50m, is required by a leading regional main contractor, to be based on their office in Central London.

You will be required to look after one mixed-use scheme, with a combined value of c.£100m made up of Residential, Education and Retail projects.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the position will be working closely with the Regional Director; and you will be responsible for delivering projects from initial tender enquiry through to final account across Education, Residential, Commercial and Leisure sectors.

Projects will consist of refurbishments schemes through to new build projects.

Minimum Requirements

• 15 years experience managing multiple residential schemes (preferably, RC and Steel Frame, high rise).
• Proven experience in the management of a minimum of two number individual schemes running simultaneously.
• Client Facing experience.
• A clear understanding of the key risks on each individual project at any one time.
• A Commercial view on construction, including a sound understanding of contract formulation, both Subcontract and Client Contracts, respectively.
• A clear understanding of people management and subcontract management
• You will be contractually aware and possess good technical knowledge. Health & Safety will be one of your key priorities and you will demonstrate the ability to offer strong guidance to Site and Project Managers as and when required.

The client is seeking to appoint an individual who is proven within a Project Director / Leader role and has a track record of delivering larger projects, coupled with a stable employment history gained working for recognised main contractors.

On offer for the successful Project Director is a salary of £100,000 - £150,000 p.a. plus car allowance, health care, pension, and bonus scheme.

Your role will be providing commercial expertise for both the client and the Main Contractor reporting on contract commercial performance to the Director. Familiarisation with JCT and NEC forms of contracts, strong cost management skills and building rapport with client and sub-contractors will all be looked for skills.

The successful Commercial Manager / Director can expect a salary of between £90,000 - £110,000 per annum plus car allowance, pension, healthcare, flexible working, and bonus scheme they will also consider flexible working hours and arrangements.
